Hello, I'm Dalia

I’m a clinical trials professional, patient advocate, and speaker- bridging the gap between science and lived experience.

With over 14 years in global clinical trial management, and a background in biomedical science and pharmacology from King’s College London, I’ve built my career at the forefront of research.

I hold a Master’s in Clinical Trials from The University of Edinburgh and have worked across leading pharmaceutical companies, CROs, and academic institutions including Parexel, Quintiles, The Institute of Cancer Research, Amgen, Allergan, and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, where I specialise in haematology oncology.

Transformation

But in 2022, my perspective on medicine changed... when I became the patient.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis, I underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, and I remain on ongoing preventative treatment. I am also a participant in a clinical trial at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre- experiencing first-hand the systems I have spent my career helping to build.

This dual perspective- professional and personal- now shapes everything I do. Today, I use my voice to advocate for:

  • Greater awareness of breast cancer in younger people

  • Improved patient experience and informed consent

  • Stronger integration of patient voice within clinical research

As a speaker and patient advocate, I’ve worked with organisations including BBC Radio, Breast Cancer Now, My Cancer My Choices, Veracyte Inc, Pharma IQ, and GCSG conferences, as well as wellness and community platforms.

I also represent patient voice at leading breast cancer conferences such as UKIBCS and the Edinburgh Breast Conference.

Projects

Alongside my advocacy, I am deeply committed to community impact. I’ve served as a Trustee for Wokingham Foodbank, volunteered with the LINK visiting scheme, and raised over £12,000 in the past year for charitable causes.

I’ve collaborated with charities and brands including Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Now, CoppaFeel!, Penny Brohn UK, and Raishma London, Loungewear Underwear and I am proud to be an ambassador for My Cancer My Choices.

My work and story have been featured across media including the BBC, The Mail Online, and HELLO Magazine.

I am currently filming a documentary exploring the experiences of younger adults living with breast cancer, and I also model with ZBD Talent, championing representation and inclusivity.

Beyond advocacy, I am passionate about the role of travel in healing and mental wellbeing. As a qualified travel agent, I am building experiences that support rest, reset, and recovery after illness.

This is the work I care about— where science meets humanity, and survival becomes something more.
